The RFID micro transponder is implanted just under the skin, via a quick, painless outpatient procedure (much like getting a shot). Each VeriChip contains a unique verification number that is read by briefly passing a proprietary scanner over the VeriChip. This number can then be used to retrieve the individual's data via secure, password protected web access.
